Mighty Oaks
PE
PE is on a Monday and Friday, children may come dressed in their PE kit. If oyur child is joinging a mainstrea group for PE, you will be notified of which day they will need PE kit for that.
Forest School
Forest School will take place every Tuesday morning. Please can you ensure your child comes into school wearing their Forest School clothes, suitable for outdoors and they must wear a suitable coat and footwear. It is highly likely your child will need a change of clothing, as we go out in all weathers.
Horse Riding
A group of children access weekly horse riding lessons in Oak class. This is a thoroughly enjoyable experience and the children look forward to this each week. The children gain so much from the experience and we believe it acts as a therapy, developing core strength, promoting relaxation and positive wellbeing.

We ask that all children are provided with a pair of wellies that they leave in school.
Reading at home
We strongly encourage children to read at home as often as possible. Depending on the age and stage of the child, this may involve sharing books, book banded books or novels in both fiction and non fiction.
Children gain a great deal from being read to by an adult or older sibling. Reading to your child from birth, even for just a few minutes a day, gives them the comfort of hearing your voice and it increases their exposure to language. Through hearing stories, children are exposed to a wide range of words. This helps them build their own vocabulary and improve their understanding when they listen, which is vital as they start to read.
